variety
of opportunities for everyone to become involved in sharing their
spiritual talents and gifts:
Stephen Ministers are trained to help in all of life’s major upheavals including divorce, illness, grief, job change, and family problems. This program offers an invaluable opportunity for those to provide spiritual care as well as receive uplifting nurturing. One Good Meal A not-for-profit organization, One Good Meal utilizes MLLC as its base for serving approximately 100 lunches to area shut-ins or those less fortunate. Some recipients come to church to eat, others have meals delivered. Volunteers are always welcome for baking desserts, delivering meals, or helping in the kitchen. Lee’s Summit Social Services MLLC supports Meal-of-the-Month through Lee’s Summit Social Services. This is a local effort that supports the families of Lee’s Summit and the surrounding area. You can help feed a family the next time you go to the store! Simply pick up an extra meal and donate it to our Meal program. Suggestions are given each month in our Visions Newsletter, and in the weekly bulletin. The donation center is located in the Fellowship Hall. Metropolitan Lutheran Ministry Our church provides support to Metropolitan Lutheran Ministry in several areas such as fundraising, or donating to the MLM Christmas Store. World Hunger Through ELCA synod and Heifer International, our church helps support world hunger. The 3rd Sunday of every month an additional offering of loose change is taken and dropped into the container on the way to communion.
