![]() About Us
Martin Luther Lutheran Church’s (MLLC) community of faith began in 1954 when the first service was held in the Lee’s Summit City Hall. A quickly growing church community, MLLC moved from the City Hall to a small House Chapel and then to a school gymnasium. In 1960, the congregation moved to its permanent home, the current location of MLLC. Today, MLLC is a growing faith community. As the needs of the Lee’s Summit community grow and shift, MLLC continually adjusts its mission support efforts to serve God’s people through caring for the community and sharing God’s Word. Our Mission “We welcome all people
to our faith community.”
This is the first
line in MLLC’s mission statement. Crafted
to
focus specifically on each worshiper; everyone is welcome, no matter
their place in the faith journey. “We call each other to
grow in love, faith, and understanding of our spiritual
gifts.”
The second line in
the mission statement empowers each member of the
congregation to grow in faith and understanding of Jesus Christ.
Through the discovery of spiritual gifts, members are challenged to
become active Christians and grow their membership into discipleship. “We go out as disciples
with our unique gifts, sharing the grace of Jesus Christ.”
The last line of
MLLC’s mission statement is a reminder that
the
Evangelical Lutheran Church of America’s goal is to share the
grace of God with our neighbors and to alleviate needs in
God’s
world. |
